1. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Your gift will help create initiatives aimed at solidifying JSU’s role in strengthening our local community.

  • Our student-athletes, coaches and staff will actively participate in mentoring programs for local youths and prizes to give away
  • After hours tutoring in local schools will be conducted
  • We will help to uplift the city’s elderly population with visitations to local nursing homes, hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

2. PLAYER WELLNESS

Student athlete well-being is at the forefront of athletics and your gift will help keep student-athletes mentally and physically strong.

  • Professional counseling services will be provided to assist student-athletes with the complex issues confronting today’s college-age students.
  • Periodic seminars and workshops will be conducted to further equip our student- athletes with the tools necessary to handle a variety of societal challenges and peer pressures that they may face.

3. TRAVEL ATTIRE

Your gift will help ensure that our student-athletes represent JSU in a professional manner.

  • We will provide blazers, shoes and other travel gear for our student-athletes to wear while traveling to athletics events. These blazers, of course,will prominently display the JSU seal or Tiger logo on the front.
  • Garment bags and other travel gear bearing the Tiger logo will also be provided for the student-athletes to use while representing the university.

4. RECRUITING BUDGET

Your gift will provide athletics the ability to recruit the top tier student-athletes from across the country to the university.

  • Our coaching staff will be able to travel to watch and meet with the nation’s top prospects, wherever they may live.
  • The coaches will also be able to invite more top prospects to visit our campus and to attend more of our games.

5. SUPPLEMENT SALARIES

Your gift will provide athletics the ability to recruit and retain the best coaches and staff.

  • As vacancies occur on our staff, we will aggressively seek the most qualified individuals to fill those positions.
  • As our program captures conference or national championships, we will reward our coaches and staff accordingly.

6. REFUELING STATIONS

Your gift will help provide student-athletes the ability to replenish nutrients after workouts to keep a competitive edge.

  • Refueling stations will be set up at strategic practice and conditioning venues across campus.
  • Nutritional drinks will be provided at this refueling stations to help our student- athletes replenish nutrients following rigorous workouts.

7. TECHNOLOGY

Your gift will provide student-athletes with the tools and resources necessary to be successful in the classroom.

  • Computer hardware and software will be provided in a state-of-the-art Academic Resource Center which will be accessible by student-athletes to conduct research projects and to use as a study hall.
  • Laptop computers, mobile hotspots and appropriate software will be provided to assist our student-athletes in their residence hall rooms and as they travel.

8. MARKETING

Your gift will help the Athletics Marketing team in promoting the university and athletics program more aggressively.

  • Additional marketing personnel will be hired to assist the athletics program with its expanded marketing efforts.
  • Our athletics marketing personnel will be able to attend and participate in national marketing workshops where best practices are discussed and shared.

9. EQUIPMENT

Your gift will help us provide a safe environment for our student-athletes to condition and practice in, thus increasing efficiencies and overall productivity.

  • Upgrading our practice and game equipment will help put our athletics program on a level playing field with our peer universities.
  • Purchasing equipment with safety in mind will also safeguard our student-athletes from potential injuries.

10. PLAYER’S LOUNGE

Your gift will help the student-athletes have a place to relax and indulge in recreational activities.

  • Studies show that students who are afforded avenues for safe recreational activities perform better in the classroom. Consequently, your gift will help us create a Players’ Lounge for our student-athletes where such activities can be engaged in.

11. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Your gift will help the athletics program institute a professional development program aimed at preparing our student-athletes for the game of life.

  • This program will include a lecture series including topics such as building a resume, job interview preparation and financial security.
  • Renown experts in selected chosen fields will be brought to campus to work with our student-athletes on preparing for life after college.

12. TRAINING TABLE

Your gift will assist us in providing supplemental meals between daily workouts as permitted by the NCAA.

  • An on-call nutritionist will assist us in providing the right supplemental meals which can best keep our student-athletes healthy and strong.

13. SPORTS MEDICINE

Your gift will provide the essential tools and support to keep our student athletes healthy

  • Additional certified athletics trainers and sports medicine personnel will be hired to better service JSU’s student-athletes.
  • Upgraded sports medicine injury prevention and rehabilitation equipment tools will be purchased to enhance the services provided by our Athletics Training Office.

14. SCHOLARSHIPS

Your gift will provide a student-athlete with 100 percent of the tuition and fees, room and board and other scholarship costs for one year.

  • Being able to offer full athletics scholarships to all of our student-athletes will help us in attracting and retaining top tier recruits.

15. TRAVEL

Your gift will provide student athletes the ability to travel in a comfortable manner to compete.

  • Whether traveling by air or by bus, it is essential that our student-athletes travel to games in a comfortable, relaxed manner to reduce recuperation time as they prepare to compete during away games.
  • All modes of team travel will be equipped with on-board technology that allows our student-athletes to continue their academic studies even while in route to competitions.

16. STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

Your gift will provide student athletes the ability to travel in a comfortable manner to compete.

  • Your gift will help JSU in providing premier coaches and equipment to prevent injury and compete on the highest level.
  • A good strength and conditioning program is one of the most essential elements in creating championships programs; consequently, JSU will ensure that it always has a team of highly skilled strength and conditioning coaches on staff.
  • Those highly skilled strength and conditioning coaches will be allotted the necessary equipment and technology to keep our student-athletes strong and healthy.

17. COST OF ATTENDANCE

Your gift will provide student-athletes with stipends to cover expenses not covered in scholarships, as permitted by the NCAA.

  • Cost of attendance can include supplemental expenses associated with attending college, such as transportation to/from home during breaks and other everyday expenses incurred while attending college.

18. OFF CAMPUS HOUSING

Your gift will provide student-athletes with expenses for one full academic year of housing off campus.

  • Athletics programs with reputations of consistently winning conference and national championships give their student-athletes the option of residing off-campus. JSU intends on becoming a national powerhouse in athletics; thus, it will operate as such.
  • Create new appealing housing
  • Off-campus housing will be an option initially for upperclassman student-athletes.

19. INDOOR FACILITY

Your gift will assist JSU in the construction of an indoor practice facility.

  • Being able to have uninterrupted practices indoor during inclement weather is crucial in preparing teams for games.
  • The indoor practice facility will give JSU an advantage over its SWAC rivals as well as most of its NCAA peer universities.

20. FACILITY UPGRADES

Your gift will help give JSU the competitive edge for recruiting and maximizing student- athlete success on and off the field.

  • All of JSU’s athletics facilities need upgrades and your gift will make these upgrades possible.

21. ON-CAMPUS STADIUM

Your gift will provide funding for a state-of-the-art football stadium on the campus of JSU.

  • One of JSU’s major missing links in becoming a national power is having an on- campus football stadium.
  • This on-campus stadium will increase home-game attendance, serve as a major recruiting tool, and generate national exposure and recognition for the athletics program, the university at large, the local community and the state.
